Steps

  1. Take one tongue depressor and wrap the thick rubber band around the center of the stick, securing it firmly.
  2. Wrap band Stick Rubber band Wrap the thick rubber band around the center of the tongue depressor
  3. Take your first 2-inch square of cardstock and fold it in thirds to create a small, thick strip.
  4. Fold in thirds Cardstock Fold the square of cardstock into three equal sections to make a strip
  5. Roll a piece of tape so that it is sticky on all sides and place the folded cardstock onto the tape.
  6. Place on tape Cardstock Tape loop Place the folded cardstock strip onto the sticky tape loop
  7. Take the second tongue depressor (the one without the rubber band) and press it onto the taped cardstock, leaving a small gap of space at the end of the stick.
  8. Press down Tape & Card Stick Press the stick onto the taped cardstock, leaving a small gap at the end
  9. Repeat the folding and taping process with the second 2-inch square of cardstock and attach it to the opposite end of the second tongue depressor, again leaving a small gap at the end.
  10. Attach here Stick Cardstock Attach the second folded cardstock to the opposite end of the stick
  11. Place the first tongue depressor (with the thick rubber band) on top of the second tongue depressor to create a 'stick sandwich'.
  12. Stick 1 Stick 2 Stack them! Place the stick with the rubber band on top of the other stick
  13. Wrap one thin rubber band tightly around the end where the cardstock is located, winding it 6 to 7 times to ensure it is very secure.
  14. Wrap tightly Cardstock Sticks Rubber band Wrap the thin rubber band around the cardstock end 6-7 times
  15. Repeat the tight wrapping process with the second thin rubber band on the opposite end of the harmonica.
  16. End 1 End 2 Wrap tightly Repeat the tight wrapping process on the opposite end
  17. To play, place your mouth over the opening and breathe in and out, or talk into the instrument to create musical vibrations.
