Create eco-friendly seed bombs using recycled paper! These little balls of nature can be tossed into your garden or a vacant lot to help wildflowers grow and support local bees.

Steps

  1. Tear the scrap paper into tiny pieces (about 1 inch squares) and place them into the blender.

  3. Add 8 cups of warm water to the blender and blend on high until the paper becomes a thick, mushy pulp.
  4. Pour the paper pulp into a strainer or colander and squeeze out the excess water using a towel until the pulp feels like damp clay.

  6. Place the damp paper pulp into a mixing bowl.

  8. Stir in 1/2 cup of potting soil and 1/4 cup of wildflower seeds, mixing them thoroughly with your hands until the seeds are evenly distributed.
  9. Scoop out a small amount of the mixture and roll it between your palms to form a ball about the size of a golf ball.

  11. Place the seed bombs on a tray or towel and let them dry completely (usually 24 to 48 hours).
  12. Once dry, toss your seed bombs into a garden area or a patch of soil and water them well to start the growing process!
