Steps

  1. Start with your square piece of paper. Fold it in half horizontally and vertically to create a cross crease in the center, then unfold it.
  2. Fold in half Paper Center Line Fold the paper in half horizontally and vertically, then unfold
  3. Fold the paper diagonally from corner to corner in both directions to create an 'X' crease, then unfold.
  4. Fold Diagonally Corner Center Fold diagonally from corner to corner in both directions, then unfold
  5. Fold all four corners into the center point of the paper (Blintz fold) to create a smaller square.
  6. Fold to center Paper Fold all four corners into the center point to make a smaller square
  7. Fold the four new corners into the center again to make an even smaller square.
  8. Fold to center Paper corner Fold the four new corners into the center to make a smaller square
  9. Fold the paper in half to create a rectangle, then unfold it to leave a center crease.

  13. Carefully fold the strip in half and use your scissors to cut a small notch or 'V' shape into the side to help the petals open.

  16. Pinch the bottom of the roll tightly to form the base of the flower.
