Steps

  1. Prepare the base by filling your flower pot or planter box with 2 quarts of potting soil, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
  2. Plant your three small succulents or fairy plants in different areas of the pot to create 'forest' sections.
  3. Craft a Fairy Path: Arrange 10 flat river stones in a winding trail from the edge of the pot toward the center to create a walkway.
  4. Place stones River Stones Arrange flat stones in a winding trail from the edge to the center
  5. Build a Fairy Cottage: Glue 4 popsicle sticks together in a square for the base, then glue 4 more sticks vertically to create walls. Glue two sticks in a V-shape on top for the roof. Paint the house with bright acrylic colors.
  6. Walls Roof Paint House Glue sticks for the cottage and paint with bright colors
  7. Make a Whimsical Bridge: Glue 5 popsicle sticks side-by-side, then glue two curved twigs across them to act as handrails. Place this bridge over a 'stream' made of blue glass beads or pebbles.
  8. Place bridge Bridge Stream Place your popsicle stick bridge over the blue bead stream
  9. Create a Fairy Swing: Tie a piece of twine to a sturdy twig. Glue a small, flat piece of wood or a large leaf to the bottom of the twine. Prop the twig up between two plants or glue it to a popsicle stick 'post'.
  10. Glue seat Leaf seat Twine Glue the leaf seat to the bottom of the twine strings
  11. Design a Magic Mushroom: Paint the top of a small pebble red with white dots and glue it to a small piece of a white popsicle stick or a thick twig.
  12. Paint dots Pebble Stem Paint the pebble red with white dots and glue it to a stem
  13. Add the finishing touches by tucking dried moss around the plants and scattering the remaining colorful beads to look like fairy crystals.
  14. Scatter beads Tuck moss Moss Crystals Tuck dried moss and scatter colorful beads for the final touch
