- Do not eat the Oobleck.
- Do not pour Oobleck down the sink as it can clog pipes; dispose of it in the trash.
- Protect work surface. Materials may stain clothing.
- Adult supervision required for children under 8.
Steps
- Pour 2 cups of cornstarch into the mixing bowl.
- If using food coloring, add 2-3 drops to 1 cup of water and stir until the color is blended.
- Slowly pour the water into the bowl with the cornstarch.
- Stir the mixture with a spoon until it reaches a thick, gooey consistency.
- Once it becomes too hard to stir with the spoon, use your hands to mix it until smooth.
- Test your Oobleck: Punch the surface quickly to see it act like a solid, then dip your fingers in slowly to see it act like a liquid!
