Steps
- Lay the construction paper flat and use the ruler to draw a rectangle that is 10 inches wide and 15 inches long.
- Cut out the rectangle using scissors.
- Decorate the paper with markers, crayons, and stickers. This will be the main body of the windsock.
- Using the ruler, measure 1 inch from the top and bottom edges and draw a light line across.
- Roll the paper into a cylinder (tube) so that the decorated side is facing out.
- Overlap the edges by about half an inch and use the glue stick to secure the seam along the entire length of the tube.
- Use the hole puncher to make two holes at the top of the cylinder, opposite each other.
- Thread the yarn or twine through the holes and tie a knot to create a hanging loop.
- Apply glue to the bottom edge of the cylinder.
- Press the ends of the ribbons or crepe paper strips into the glue, spacing them evenly around the bottom of the tube to create the wind streamers.
- Let the glue dry completely before hanging the windsock outside on a tree branch or porch.
