Colorful Homemade Playdough

Materials
- all-purpose flour (2 cups)
- salt (1/2 cup)
- cream of tartar (2 tbsp)
- vegetable oil (2 tbsp)
- warm water (1 cup)
- food coloring (3-5 different colors, 1 drop each)

Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the 2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup of salt, and 2 tbsp of cream of tartar. Stir until well mixed.
- Add 2 tbsp of vegetable oil and 1 cup of warm water to the dry mixture.
- Stir the mixture with a spoon or spatula until a soft dough begins to form.
- Turn the dough out onto a clean counter or table and knead it with your hands for 2-3 minutes until it is smooth and stretchy.
- Divide the large ball of dough into smaller equal portions based on how many colors you want to make.
- Place a drop of food coloring into the center of each dough portion.
- Knead the color into the dough thoroughly until the color is evenly distributed and vibrant.
- Store the finished playdough in airtight containers or zip-top bags to keep it from drying out.
