- color-match plug screws (1 pack)
- black spray paint (1 can)
- small plastic sink (1 unit)
- PVC pipe 3/4 inch (small scrap for burners)
- metal hooks (4-6 units)
- 5-gallon bucket (1 unit)
- scrap 2x4 wood (small pieces for knobs)
Tools
- circular saw or jigsaw (1)
- power drill (1)
- screwdriver (1)
- hole saw attachment (1)

Safety
- Power tools require adult operation. Always wear eye protection.
- Adult supervision required for sharp objects.
- Adult supervision required for children under 8.
- Wear a dust mask when cutting wood.
- Work in a well-ventilated area.
Steps
- Build the frame by creating two rectangular supports using 2x4s. Each should be 6 feet long and 20 inches deep, with a center support beam for stability.
- Attach four legs to the frame, ensuring the countertop height is approximately 2 feet off the ground for children.
- Install a second support frame about 12 inches above the ground to create a bottom storage shelf.
- Cut the composite decking to fit the top and bottom shelves. For the top, use three full-width boards and one ripped to 3 inches to create a 1-inch overhang on the front and sides.
- Screw the composite decking onto the top and bottom frames using the color-match plug screws.
- Attach the cedar tongue and groove boards to the back of the frame to create a solid wall for hanging tools.
- Cut a hole in the composite countertop to fit the small plastic sink and add 2x4 blocking underneath for support.
- Create a 'stove top' by cutting circles out of the 3/4 PVC and painting them black; glue or screw them to the counter.
- Make stove knobs by cutting small circles from scrap 2x4 using a hole saw and painting them black.
- Install hooks into the cedar backboard for hanging pots, pans, and measuring cups.
- Place a 5-gallon bucket underneath the sink to catch water for easy disposal.
- Add water and food coloring to the sink to start the first 'mud pie' session!
